1918
The Spark
An Englishman arrives in Cairo needing his wooden prosthetic limb repaired. Haj Ali Mohamed Elmasry, a master of Arabesque woodworking, repairs it — and glimpses a bigger calling.
1936
Masna' Al-Sharq Is Founded
Second-generation Ali Elmasry expands the family workshop into orthopedic braces, support belts, and crutches, formally establishing it as Masna' Al-Sharq — Arabic for "The East Factory."
1970
Egypt's First Wheelchair
Third-generation Abdelaziz Elmasry takes over, renames the factory after himself, and manufactures the first wheelchair ever made in Egypt — a milestone that defines the company for decades to come.
2004–2012
An Innovation Hub Emerges
The company expands into a dedicated innovation hub, engineering some of the market's most durable wheelchairs — including breakthroughs like carbon fiber wheels.
